To our Family and Friends, from Todd Kennedy, President, Providence Hospital:

Providence today mourns with Mobile the loss of Officer Justin Billa. As ordered by Governor Kay Ivey we have lowered our flag to half staff in remembrance of Officer Billa, End of Watch, February 20, 2018. For those of you unaware, Officer Billa was killed in the line of duty protecting and serving our community late last night. Providence stands by our Fellow Service Men and Women. We ask that if you can, you would please donate to the family of Officer Billa at https://www.mobilepd.org/memorial-fund/.
Officer Billa is survived by his wife, Erin, and their one year old son. He truly was a servant leader and paid the ultimate price for our community. Officer Billa gave up his last moments protecting us as a community, so that we all could have more time, more moments with our own families in a safer environment. Now we hope our community, along with our caregivers at Providence, will give back to their family.
Speaking personally, I have known Erin and her family for many years. Erin and people like her are the very fabric of what makes Mobile a great place to live. I have watched her family love and support their community and support new members that have come into our community.
I believe Mobile to be one of the best cities in the country and so I challenge all of us: individuals, businesses, our City and County Government and the multiple Mobile foundations, to join us in supporting this family. Again, please donate at https://www.mobilepd.org/memorial-fund/ and please share this posting as many times as you can with your own friends, businesses, Churches, and foundations.
May God bless this family beyond all measure in their time of need.
