Providence Medical Group – Citronelle Adds Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioner Rhonda N. McGrew has joined the staff of Providence Medical Group – Citronelle located at 19140 South Third Street in Citronelle.

McGrew earned her Nursing degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis. She worked in the neonatal intensive care units at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Mobile, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City, and Baptist Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. She has special medical interest in preventive health care and the primary care health issues of adults and children.

Nurse practitioners are registered nurses who have advanced degrees and have undergone advanced clinical training to provide primary, acute and specialty healthcare services. According to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, they can diagnose illnesses, order and perform diagnostic tests, write prescriptions, treat common medical conditions and provide patient education.
