Providence Hospital Welcomes Community to 32nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Dec. 1
November 28, 2016 9:39 am
A 32-year-old West Mobile tradition continues this holiday season with the Providence Hospital Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The public is invited to join Providence associates and Auxiliary members for the popular community event on Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby (6801 Airport Blvd., Mobile 36685.)
Providence Hospital is a member of Ascension, the largest non-profit health system in the U.S. and the world’s largest Catholic health system.
For a five dollar donation to the Providence Hospital Auxiliary, those wishing to honor or remember a loved one can have the honoree’s name placed on the Scrolls of Honor that will be on display in the lobby during the holidays. A light for each honoree will be added to the 12-feet tall tree.
Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi will bless the tree and read the names from the scrolls. Following the ceremony, a reception featuring refreshments and holiday music will be held in the adjacent DePaul Center.
Donations from the tree lighting will be added to those from other Auxiliary events to help fund needed projects at the hospital. Proceeds from last year’s events funded the purchase of a shuttle bus for the parking lot and new furniture for the 7th Floor.
