Providence Hospital – Experience the “Battle for the Paddle”

Providence Hospital along with the University of South Alabama College of Nursing invites you to a unique and highly competitive event called Battle for the Paddle on Thursday, July 28, starting at 9:00 a.m. on the patio outside the Providence Hospital Cafeteria.

P6242477Canoe teams of three will race down the Providence Lake to win the coveted golden paddle trophy and to raise money for the new Children’s Medical Center in Haiti. This highly competitive event can be enjoyed from the cafeteria patio where hot dogs, hamburgers and snow cones will be on sale as well as t-shirts that commemorate the competition. All the proceeds from this event will benefit the Children of Haiti Medical Center (Danita’s Children), a 50 bed acute care children’s hospital and outpatient center that provides healthcare to the most needy/vulnerable of the children in Ouanaminthe, Haiti and surrounding communities. This ministry is sponsored by and operates under the direction of the Ascension Gulf Coast Ministry that includes Providence Health System in Mobile and Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Fla.
