Providence Health System Announces Management Appointments

Clark P. Christianson, system president and CEO of Providence Health System, a ministry of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system, announced the following management appointments:

  • Marie House, RN, BSN, was appointed nurse manager of the coronary care and telemetry units. House received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Mobile and has more than 17 years of nursing experience. She previously served as a charge nurse on the coronary care unit.

  • April Murray has been named director of finance. An associate of Providence Hospital Finance Department for more than twelve years, Murray holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Mobile.

  • Terry Ray, RN has accepted the position of nurse manager of the emergency department. Ray received his nursing degree from University of Mobile in 1995 and will graduate in May 2015 with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He has more than 19 years of nursing experience, including as a triage nurse, charge nurse and team leader for the Intensive Care Units and Emergency Department.

  • Brian Swaim, RN, MSN was named nurse manager of the intensive care units. Swaim has 16 years of nursing experience. A graduate of Bishop State Community College of Nursing and the University of South Alabama, Swaim is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He has experience as a hospital supervisor and nurse manager in intensive care, emergency department and medical surgical units in other area hospitals.
