New Family Medicine Practice Opens in Fairhope

Providence Medical Group, the physician network of Providence Hospital, is expanding to the Eastern Shore with a new office in Fairhope and a new name. The new practice, located at 411 North Section Street, Suite B, opens Nov. 1 as Ascension Medical Group Providence at Fairhope.
The new office is the most recent addition to the growing group of physician practices. Earlier this year, new specialty care practices were opened for pediatrics, ENT and facial plastic/reconstructive surgery.
Julia Ellison, DO, will practice family medicine in the Fairhope office. Dr. Ellison, who lives with her husband and children in Fairhope, has been on staff in the Providence Medical Group – Saraland office since January. She earned her doctor of osteopathy degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Alabama. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Ellison has special interest in preventative care for children and adults, diabetes prevention and care, and the treatment of both chronic and acute illnesses and injuries.
