Visitor Information

Public Telephone/Newspapers

Public telephones are located in each waiting room and in the main lobby. Newspapers may be purchased outside the south (rear) exit of the main lobby.

Food Services

Family members may eat in the hospital cafeteria, which is on Level 1. The cafeteria hours are:

  • Hot Breakfast: 6:30 - 9:00 a.m.
  • Continental Breakfast: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Grill: 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:30 - 7:15 p.m.

The cafeteria also has vending machines with sandwiches, fruit and snack items.  Candy and soda machines are located throughout the patient tower.  JAVA Good Day Coffee Shop, located on the first floor of the B building in the Providence Medical Office Plaza, offers specialty coffees and snacks.

Gift Shop

The Providence Hospital Auxiliary operates a gift shop located on Level 2. You may purchase cards, gifts, various small necessities and artificial or fresh flowers.  The gift shop is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visitor Parking

A large, lighted parking area for visitors is provided free of charge. It is located on the west side of the hospital. A shuttle service is available by notifying Security in advance, 251-633-1790.

The next time you have an appointment scheduled with your physician at the Providence Medical Office Plaza, make sure you take full advantage of our free valet parking. The valet check-in is at Building A under the canopy and operated from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Wheelchairs are available.

Internet Access

Patient family members and visitors may access the Internet in the Volunteer Services office, located behind the Gift Shop just off the main lobby of the hospital.  The computer is available for your use from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For more information, call Volunteer Services at 251-633-1335.

Waiting Areas

The Main Surgery Waiting Room and Cardiology Waiting Room are on the third floor of the Outpatient Center building. To reach them, use the bridge on Level 3. The Intensive Care Waiting Room is on Level 5, and the Cardiac Care Waiting Room is on Level 6.

RV Parking

Three spaces with electrical hookups are available for recreational vehicle parking. Please call Security at (251) 633-1790 to arrange to use this free service.

Social Work Services

Providence Hospital's Social Work Services department offers medical social workers to help patients and families to cope with, and adapt to, changes brought about by illness and hospitalization. These social workers are also available to coordinate discharge plans, including nursing home placement and home health care. All services are provided at no cost to patients. Information on advance directives and living wills may be obtained through Social Work Services. Call (251)-633-1340 for assistance.
