Providence Health Ministry leaders today announced a new mobile "app" for iPhones and Android smartphones. The app is free and is available on the iTunes store and the Android store.
Providence is the area's first health system to launch an app for mobile devices, according to system leaders. "This app allows users to seamlessly connect with physicians who use Providence Hospital," said Todd Kennedy, Providence Health Ministry system executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Users can search by physician name, specialty or practice, and the app will connect them by phone or website, give them a map to the physician's office and even give them turn-by-turn directions," said Kennedy. The app also provides information on Providence Hospital services and facilities, and connects to the hospital's Facebook page.
"We are pleased to be the first in our community to offer this electronic navigation tool to aid new and established patients in finding access to Providence Health Ministry's affiliated physicians," said Clark Christianson, system president and CEO. "We see this as an important way to connect with those we serve," said Christianson.
