Because of the excellent care that Providence Hospital and its physicians offer, M. D. Anderson Physicians Network® approved Providence as an ally in the fight against cancer.
Through this exclusive local affiliation with M. D. Anderson Physicians Network, Providence Hospital and fifty local M. D. Anderson Physicians Network® credentialed physicians are able to offer their patients access to more than one hundred detailed cancer regimens developed by M. D. Anderson Cancer Center for the diagnosis and treatment of almost every type and stage of cancer. To access the benefits of this affiliation, patients must choose a physician who has been credentialed by M. D. Anderson Physicians Network®.
Providence’s cancer program has undergone a rigorous review of standards and practices to ensure it meets M. D. Anderson Physicians' Network's standards of care. Participating physicians have also gone through a lengthy credentialing process, including an assessment of the physicians’ office practices and a medical record review. Regular, in-depth studies are conducted to measure the quality of services provided through the affiliation.
Access to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center
In Mobile, patients have access to Providence physicians who follow the M. D. Anderson Physicians Network® disease management guidelines for treating cancer. However, for patients who choose to travel to Houston for care, Providence’s affiliation with M. D. Anderson Physicians Network® provides unique support services to ease that transition. These services include scheduling of timely appointments, meeting patients upon their arrival at the center and escorting them to appointments, a discount on lodging services in Houston and personal coordination of other aspects of medical care.
